Hip pain shows up as groin or outer-hip pain, stiffness, or a deep ache that limits walking, sitting or sport. Sometimes the hip is the problem; just as often, a stiff hip is the hidden cause of pain elsewhere.
We assess the hip in the context of the whole chain, because it sits right in the middle of it.
Often it isn’t where it hurts
The hip is a mobility joint — built to move a lot. When it stiffens or compresses (often after sitting, an old injury or sport), the joints either side pick up the slack: the lower back is forced to move more, and the knee takes rotational stress it isn’t designed for. That’s why a stiff hip often shows up as back or knee pain. We find where the hip is restricted and what it’s affecting.
How we treat it
Treatment restores the hip’s movement, releases what’s compressed or overloaded, and rebuilds the control and strength around it.
The result: the hip does its job again and stops overloading the back and knee.
