Your body stopped working properly long before the pain started.
Most persistent back, neck and joint pain in desk workers isn’t a structural problem. It’s a movement problem — and it started long before anything showed up on a scan.
Book a Free Discovery Call Learn MoreMost people who find their way here have already tried something. Physio, massage, rest, a course of exercises. Things that helped for a while, then stopped. The problem usually isn’t that those treatments were wrong. It’s that they were aimed at where the pain is, not what’s driving it.
Your body has been quietly compensating for years. Your swivel chair rotates for you, so your thoracic spine stopped doing it. Your glutes stopped firing because they were never asked to. Your hips compressed at the front and tightened at the back. And then your lower back and neck — the two parts of your spine with no backup — started picking up the slack for everything that had stopped working above and below them.
By the time it hurts, this has been going on for months. Sometimes years. The scan comes back normal because nothing is broken. But something has absolutely changed. That’s what your Waterloo osteopath looks for.
You’ve been told nothing is structurally wrong. But something clearly isn’t right.
You’ve done the physio. You’ve had the scans. You’ve been told nothing is structurally wrong — but something clearly isn’t right, and nobody has quite explained why.
Maybe it started with an old injury you thought had healed. A sport you had to stop. A fall you shrugged off. Or nothing dramatic at all — just a body that gradually got stiffer, achier, and harder to trust.
The gap between what the tests show and what you actually feel — that’s where we work.
What Makes This Different
Most treatment addresses the pain. Our Waterloo osteopath looks for what’s driving it.
Pain rarely happens in isolation. A knee surgery from three years ago that changed how your foot lands. A hip that compressed after months of sitting and never fully reset. A thoracic spine that stopped rotating, leaving your lower back to do everything on its own. None of this shows on a scan. But it shows in how you move.
The body works as an integrated whole. When one part stops doing its job, something else picks up the slack — until it can’t anymore. That’s usually when people arrive here. Not because something suddenly broke, but because the system finally ran out of ways to compensate.
What we do is find where the chain broke down, restore the movement that’s been lost, and give your body back the tools it needs to stop overloading the parts that hurt.
Function-Led Assessment & Treatment
Every session starts here. A whole-body movement assessment that looks at how you load, compensate, and what your body has been doing quietly in the background.
Joint Articulation & Mobilisation
Joints that have stopped moving well don’t always hurt — but they make other things hurt. Controlled movement to restore range and retrain patterns.
Dry Needling
Fine, sterile needles to release trigger points that have stopped responding to manual work alone. Fast-acting and particularly effective for entrenched pain.
Deep Tissue & Sports Massage
Applied soft tissue work directed at the areas identified in your assessment — not a generic massage, but targeted work as part of a broader plan.
IASTM
Specialised tools to work through layers of soft tissue — particularly effective where an old injury “healed” but left something behind.
Rehab & Strength Coaching
Programmed specifically around your assessment findings and what you’re trying to get back to — not a generic exercise sheet.
How It Works
What happens when you come in.
First, we listen. Not just to the current problem — to the whole story. The old injuries, the surgeries, the things you’ve tried. All of it matters, because all of it is connected.
Then we look at how you actually move. A whole-body movement assessment, done standing and moving, not just lying on a table. Because that’s where the body tells the truth about what it’s been doing quietly in the background.
Then we work on it together. Hands-on treatment to release what’s restricted and calm what’s overloaded, alongside movement work you can take away and use between sessions.
And throughout all of it, we explain everything. Most patients say the most valuable thing wasn’t just feeling better — it was finally understanding what had been happening in their body. You’ll always know what I find and why.
What Patients Say
130+ Google reviews. Here are a few.
“Bow was amazing, she talked me through what my issues were then manipulated my body and connected everything so it all relaxed. Literally could barely walk with back pain and knee pain and all relaxed and moving freely now. Could not recommend more highly!!!”
“10 months after the injury first appeared, I saw a number of physios, had MRI scans and was told by several NHS specialists there was nothing more they could do. 30 mins into my first session with Bow, she told me she was confident she knew what the problem was. After 6 sessions, I was back running.”
“Bow listened very carefully with regards to the incident that brought me to her clinic but also to my entire history. She explained her diagnosis and her plan for treatment. The next day I woke up 85% like I was before the incident. Today is the third day and there is no trace of the pain.”
About Bow
I won’t stop until we find an answer.
I’m a registered osteopath based in Waterloo, SE1, registered with the General Osteopathic Council. I work with people who’ve been through the system — physio, GP, sometimes orthopaedic consultations — and are still stuck. Often there’s a clear explanation for what’s happening. It just needs someone to actually look for it. Read more about Bow.
My approach is built around one belief: the body works as a whole, and persistent pain almost always has a root cause that nobody has found yet. As your Waterloo osteopath I treat people standing up, moving, loading — because that’s where the real picture emerges, not on a treatment table with everything unloaded and relaxed.
I invest constantly in my own knowledge because my clients deserve someone who’s always getting better at this. And if I’m not the right person to help you, I’ll tell you honestly and point you towards someone who is. I won’t leave you without an answer.
Not sure if this is right for you?
Start with a free 15-minute call. Tell me what you’ve been dealing with. I’ll tell you honestly whether this is something I can help with — and if not, I’ll point you towards who can. Either way, you’ll leave that call understanding your situation better than when you came in.
