Bow Chung

Bow's route into osteopathy started on the gym floor. She spent four years as a personal trainer in Mayfair and Canary Wharf, and what she loved most was the coaching — watching someone finally understand something about their own body.

When she found osteopathy, she recognised the same thing at a deeper level: as she puts it, the treatment is the vehicle, the coaching is the point.

Her own injury shaped the rest. After rupturing both her MCL and PCL — having built much of her identity around being active and competing in jiu-jitsu — she had to rebuild from the bottom up. That process taught her more about what the body is capable of than anything she'd studied, and it's why she believes the body can do far more than most people are told.

She talks a lot in sessions, and that's deliberate — understanding why your lower back keeps overloading puts you in a completely different position to just being worked on and sent home.

Her work is whole-body and assessment-led: she treats people standing, moving and loading, looks for the root cause others have missed, and reinvests constantly in her own knowledge.

I couldn’t walk more than 8 mins to do school drop off and pick up without being in pain and struggling, every movement whether it’s lying down, getting up, sitting down or going up and down stairs and sitting on toilet has been very painful and is a day to day issue till recently been treated by Bow. Since having had 2 sessions with Bow, I felt very emotional and had happy tears from being able to walk more freely, able to put my socks and shoes more easily and turning whilst lying down has been much more flexible with less pain than usual which meant I could sleep better first time in months and I can’t express my gratitude enough to Bow-she really has exceptional knowledge and experience and is soo comfortable to be yourself around as non judgemental. Very professional, friendly and patient and you instantly feel like you’re in the right hands. I liked that I was able to speak and share what I needed when I needed and felt listened. I liked that I was understood and so was my pain and experiences. I like that I’m not judged based on appearance, body, functions, ability etc and I know if I’m feeling like this after 2 sessions then I’m on the right tracks to improving further hopefully and look forward to more sessions and more pain free days ahead. Thank you so much Bow x
